DAX Formula Expression advise 1 year, 6 months ago #146

I have a table that has two area's of business and I have written the below DAX calculated measure but this elimnates one of the area's, is at all possible to add the IF Formula to this to filter against both areas. of business?

(SUMX(FILTER(ORSALES,ORSALES[My]="Current" && ORSALES[ItemsSRP 1 - Type CodeSRP 1 - Type Code]="BIK"),ORSALES[MeasuresExtended Price Local - S])*0.01)+(SUMX(FILTER(ORSALES,ORSALES[My]="Obsolete" && ORSALES[ItemsSRP 1 - Type CodeSRP 1 - Type Code]="BIK"),ORSALES[MeasuresExtended Price Local - S])*0.005)

what i probably would do is create a calculated column that determines the type of business. Then you can use that in your measure or as filter in your Pivottable. Creating a calculated column is also very good for performance since it is processed on refresh or creation not at execution time.

The performance of this kind of measure will not be very good, Sumx and filter both are CPU unfriendly.
