7 reasons to choose for SSAS or PowerPivot
In my previous blog I explained the difference in purpose between PowerPivot and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). In this blog I will talk about the actual functionality that puts them apart.
1. Security
First and foremost is the lack of data security in PowerPivot. Any user that can access a PowerPivot database, can see all of the containing data. Analysis Services does offer a security model where for instance somebody from France can only see data from France.
