In preparation for the SQLBits 9 conference, I spent a lot of time building and rebuilding virtual environments to demonstrate Microsoft business intelligence products. One problem I kept coming across was when creating a service application and proxy for PowerPivot I would frequently get an error message with the text "Error. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON'.".
