DAX : Building a monthly salesreport with estimation in PowerPivot

In this blogpost I would like to take you with me when building report in PowePivot with DAX expressions in a couple of steps. For my current customer I've to build a report that calculates the daily sales and they want to compare this with their target:
- Monthly sales. How much have we sold of this product, per company, etc.
- Extrapolation of monthly sales (estimation) and compare this with the target.
