Understanding DAX - Context (Row)

Thought I'd have a little play with Power Pivot and take a deeper look at the documentation on DAX.

My first impression for better or worse is that, it's like excel functions, but some of it's fundamentals are different. MDX is difficult for users to get their head around intially and the key to understanding MDX is understanding the current context (explicit and implicit) that a particular part of query is executing under.
